During the boys 3rd  and 4th grade Sunday School Class the teachers spoke
about going to play lazer tag.  The cost is around $14.00.  The boys in the
class said that they are going to bring extra money so that the ‘Gle-an’ boys
can go with them.  The 'Gle-an' boys would not be able to go otherwise.
Great job boys LIVING IT OUT.

Two ladies from our church made a visit to one of the Kaliang families
with a 4th grade little girl who was able to interpret for them. They took
six bags of groceries and a ceramic heater to provide for some of their
basic needs, and were also able to have an opportunity to kneel and
pray with them. The ladies were touched by the contentment of the
family and the joy with which they received what they were given.

Two ladies in our church were talking about the Kaliang families.
One lady just had visited one of the families.  She was sharing how
the families had little meat to eat.  A lady (who does not go to our church)
overheard them talking and told them that she owned a local restaurant.
She told the ladies that she would like to give them enough chicken
for two families a week until Christmas.  The two Kaliang families were
very happy after they got the fresh chicken.   God is working and with
His will Live It Out could spread out all over High Point and the Triad.

The Adopt-a-Family Project is moving along well! At least 14 family
groups have expressed interest in participating in our project
with our Kalaing families from the Lao congregation to help them
become more comfortable in our community! However, we are still
in need of Primary Families for this project!

Here's some photos from our visit with our new family. Be Aye &
Ma Nay HTun...and their kids, plus a friend.

Note the shots around the thermostat.........................it takes
three to four care group members to operate a thermostat!
They now understand the difference in AC and Heat! First steps
are always the best ones. It was a good evening................we
also took Hannah wit us to help with the kids. They colored and
painted the entire time we were there.

family, who is one of the main Kaliang interpreters. Klo Say recently wrote
a very nice letter to John, expressing their families’ appreciation for their
friendship. It’s wonderful to see the blessing these families are being to each other!

Our Care Group (the "Empty Nesters") lived it out and lived it up
this weekend!

We held a Christmas party for the mentally impaired men's home (Billy Irving Group
home) here in High Point. Most of these guys do not have family or anyone to celebrate
Christmas. They have a penny challenge going on where people collect pennies
to buy gifts for them at Christmas. They are competing with other group homes.
They had two small bags of pennies collected. [Maybe our church could set up
something in the foyer to collect pennies for them (this is throughout the year)].

First, we got their Christmas tree out of storage and our guys helped them assemble
it. Then the ladies from our group and the guys from the group home helped decorate
it. We turned off all the lights and watched it glow (it was fiberoptic). It was truly
beautiful. The neighbors all had lights and now they did too.

We moved from there to John McMurphy reading the Christmas story to them. This
was so touching because some of them sat close as they were read to. Reminded me
of reading to my granddaughter (the same delight she feels to have a story read to
her).

Next, we all shared a meal the Care Group brought. Suzie Curtis made the guys a
treat bag and Kay McMurphy brought them each a basket of candy and homemade
cookies. Penny Seiglin made a cherry dessert (I have always heard in my lifetime...
life is short, eat dessert first! This actually happened at the table...some of
them ate dessert first...now they know how to live!)

After eating, we all gathered around the table for a competitive game of ...BINGO.
We played until each guy won a prize. It got rather loud ...and I don't exactly mean
the guys, our Care Group was into it!) The group home guys were so happy to win a
prize.

We stayed at the table and sang about 5 Christmas carols. They sang
with abandonment and we did too! Jingle Bells has an all new meaning.
After a few hours we said our goodbyes....our group talked in the parking lot about
how blessed we were to share this time with them.

On to the next Live It Out!
